Ratbag Parents

The father was just another druggie who liked bashing women and frightening children so it wasn't surprising when his wife got an Apprehended Violence Order against him. He was ordered to stay away from the family and never go near them again.

But then the wife started feeling sorry for him. She forgot that only a few days ago he was pointing a loaded gun at her head and threatening to kill her. She forgot all that and told the guy, "Don't worry about about the AVO, come and visit us any time you like." And he did. And he always brought his guns with him. His favourite was his sawn-off shotgun. Not only was it deadly but it was illegal as well - talk about exciting!

Then in late August 2017 the husband was due in court on drug charges so he decided to stash his sawn-off shotgun at the wife's house. Once again she forgot about the AVO and let him into the house and watched while he stashed the loaded weapon.

Trouble was, the children were also watching.

As soon as mum and dad left the room the kids retrieved the gun and eventually  a three year old girl had her head blown off.

Now the mother suddenly remembers that she hates the man and spends the rest of night screaming at him while he sits in the gutter outside the home, crying his eyes out, and asking "Why did this happen to me?" He's been putting on quite an act about it:
The man’s barrister William Barber told the court his client had been alone in a cell 23 hours a day and without his usual antidepressants and sleeping medication.
“He is very very highly traumatised, he tells me he hasn’t slept for five days. He is losing his mind,” Mr Barber said.
You watch him brighten up when the police finally agree that one of the other children pulled the trigger and he is no longer facing a manslaughter charge.
